2019 Schedule: Workshops, Rituals, and More

Denver Pagan Pride Day includes an abundance of opportunities for learning and hands-on experiences. All offerings are inclusive, open to all ages, and free of charge.

*Workshops and rituals will be held in the sanctuary inside the Althea Center as well as outside in the back lot (look for the “workshop area” banner). Workshops and rituals start on the hour and on the half-hour and typically last thirty minutes, unless otherwise noted. (The front lot is right next to the building, facing Williams St.; the back lot is almost directly behind the front lot, separated by a small alley and facing High St.)* 

2019 Presenters and Performers:

Special Guest: Raven Digitalis

Raven Digitalis (Montana) will be our special guest at this year’s Denver Pagan Pride Day! He will be offering book signings throughout the day, as well as a special Sanskrit Puja (honoring ceremony) to Lord Ganesha beginning at noon, in celebration of the Ganesh Chaturthi festival! (He will also be at Goddess Isis Books the day beforehand, Sept. 6, offering a full day of Tarot readings.) Raven is the author of The Everyday Empath, Esoteric Empathy, Shadow Magick Compendium, Planetary Spells & Rituals and Goth Craft (Llewellyn Worldwide). He is the co-founder of a nonprofit multicultural temple called Opus Aima Obscuræ (OAO), which primarily observes NeoPagan and Hindu traditions. Raven has been an earth-based practitioner since 1999, a Priest since 2003, a Freemason since 2012, and an empath all of his life. Najah Lightfoot

Najah Lightfoot (Denver, CO) is an initiated member of La Source Ancienne Ounfo, a private Vodou society in New Orleans, Louisiana, a sister-priestess of the Divine Feminine, and an active member of the Denver Pagan Community. She is the author of Good Juju: Mojos, Rites, and Practices for the Magical Soul, published by Llewellyn Worldwide. She keeps her magick strong through the practice of Kung Fu, the folk magick of Hoodoo, Pagan rituals and her belief in the Mysteries of the Universe. Chase Goodman-Worthington

Chase Goodman-Worthington is a High Priest, life coach and mindfulness master practitioner.

Join Chase in an Offering to Kuan Yin, she who hears the cries of the world, the Buddhist bodhisattva of compassion. We will chant prayers, receive oracles, and offer energy and healing to those we choose to focus on as part of this meditational ritual.

JJ Steelman

JJ Steelman is a longtime active member of the Denver Pagan community and an entrepreneur with several businesses. He has also been involved with bat rescue and conservation, and is currently the owner of The Boys Brew coffee and tea.

JJ will be offering a workshop on Breaking Barriers: Building Meaningful and Fulfilling Relationships in a Modern Pagan Society.

Crux Ansata Oasis

Crux Ansata Oasis is an Ordo Templi Orientis oasis in the Denver area.

They will be presenting a Thelemic Sun Salutation Ritual. Resh is a ritual that happens four times a day and it adores and recognizes the Sun at it’s four main stations, midnight, dawn, noon and dusk. As many pagans like to recognize the power and symbolism of the Moon, Thelemites like to recognize the power of the Sun as well. Kimberly Stewart

Kimberly Stewart is a small business idea consultant with a degree in Psychology and Visual Art from Naropa University. She is the author of several books including Wishcraft and I Could Do Anything If Only I Knew What It Was.

Kimberly will be presenting a workshop on A Pagan’s Perspective on How to Be Weird and Make Money Doing What You Love. If you’ve ever thought about starting

Gwynalda Shadowalker

Gwynalda Shadowalker is a Wiccan High Priestess & Certified Astrologer, initiated in NYC prior to migration to Colorado in 1998.

Gwynalda will be presenting a workshop on Moon Magick: Arcane Secrets of Spell-Crafting Via Lunar Phases & Cycles.

Fredericka Turner

Fredericka Turner is the owner of a conjure based business out of New Orleans. She is a rootworker and caplata who practices New Orleans Voodoo. She is a member of the Society for Shamanic Practices, Etheonation and the International Practitioners of Holistic Medicine. etsy.com/shop/conjuria

Fredericka will be offering a workshop on the topic of Hoodoo or Voodoo? The course will be a very introductory explanation of the difference between Hoodoo and Voodoo, the origins of Hoodoo and its very basic tenets and it’s basis in traditional African religions. The course will cover the roots of Hoodoo and Southern Folk Magic traditions.

Andarta

Andarta has been walking the Pagan path for almost 25 years now, and she is a professional psychic. She has been a Druid for many years and is a member of Order of the Bards, Ovates, and Druids (OBOD). Andarta is an Empath who can sense people’s feelings, as well as a Clairvoyant and Clairaudient. She is a Reiki Master, a high priestess who performs legal handfastings and weddings, and  a Priestess of Avalon. Andarta is also an English professor who holds a Masters in Composition and Rhetoric, and a Doctorate in Medieval Literature, utilizing her knowledge of ancient languages and the Arthurian legends in her Magickal Writing classes.

Andarta will be offering a talk on What is a Pagan? where you will learn about different types of Paganism, Witchcraft, and Heathenry.

Frater Ashen Chassan

Bryan Garner/Frater Ashen Chassan is a practicing occultist and grimoric traditionalist who has been involved in Western ceremonial magic since 1999. He is the author of Gateways Through Stone and Circle (Nephilim Press), as well as coauthor of The Holy Guardian Angel (Nephilim Press), Ritual Offerings (Nephilim Press), Liber Spirituum (Azoth Press), and Gateways Through Light and Shadow (Azoth Press). Frater Ashen Chassan will be offering a class on Classical Grimoire and Folk Magick. Learn about the art of conjuring, scrying, and working with spirits.

Ann Hatzakis

Ann Hatzakis has been a Hellenic Polytheist for over 30 years and an oathbound devotee of the Daughters of Kronos — Hestia, Demeter, and Hera — as well as part of Hellenion and a contributor to a pair of devotional books published through Neos Alexandria/Bibliotheca Alexandria (one devoted to Poseidon and one devoted to Hestia). Phoenix Dancing

Dynamic and dramatic, Phoenix is an acclaimed belly dance artist with a stage presence that is as unique as it is diverse. Based in Colorado, she performs and teaches nationally while directing the Sharaqa Shimmers Performance Troupe and teaching regular classes in DenverPhoenix’s signature style is a pastiche of Egyptian and Turkish cabaret, spiritual dance, and tribal style. A master at Isis Wings, in 2008 she produced and starred in her internationally acclaimed instructional DVD Isis Wings With Phoenix. Phoenix and students will offer a dance performance set on the stage during the festival.

 Kaedrich Olsen

Kaedrich Olsen has been an ardent student of Old Norse literature and spirituality, concentrating upon the runes and mysticism from an early age. He is a musician, a runic scholar, and the author of Runes for Transformationhttp://galdrakraft.com/

Kaedrich will be offering a workshop on Exploring the Sacred Masculine. Learn about positive sacred masculine archetypes such as the Magician, the Lover, and the King. This inclusive workshop is open to everyone.
